    L'assemblage et la mission du cargo ATV-2, le ravitailleur de l'ISS Suite au succès du premier ATV (Automated Transfer Vehicle), Jules Verne, lancé le 9 mars 2008, l’ESA a reconduit sa confiance au CNES pour la conduite des opérations du second ATV, baptisé Johannes Kepler. Celui-ci dispose de davantage de fournitures, de carburant et d’air que le premier. Il sera lancé par Ariane 5 le 15 février prochain.

Sunday 9 December, a persistent malfunction of a sensor in the external fuel tank of the space shuttle Atlantis forced STS-122 mission managers to postpone the launch for a 4th time.   4. French astronaut Thomas Pesquet to fly to ISS in 2016

    Geneviève Fioraso, France’s Minister for Higher Education and Research, Jean-Jacques Dordain, Director General of the European Space Agency (ESA), and CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall announced Monday 17 March that French astronaut Thomas Pesquet will make his first spaceflight in late 2016.
