    Tuesday 7 November, CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall took part in the Informal Space Ministerial Meeting in Tallinn, Estonia, devoted to the future of the Copernicus programme and in particular satellite data policy and competitiveness and innovation to spur development of Europe’s space sector. Urve Palo, Estonia’s Minister of Entrepreneurship and Information Technology, chaired the meeting at which Begoña Cristeto Blasco, Spain’s General Secretary of Industry and SMEs, and Elzbieta Bienkowska, European Commissioner for the Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, were present.

    The ministerial conference of the European Space Agency (ESA) was held in Lucerne, Switzerland, on Thursday 1 and Friday 2 December. France, represented by Thierry Mandon, Secretary of State for Higher Education and Research, convinced the other member states to sign up to the ambitious programme proposed by ESA in order to maintain Europe’s leading role in space exploration.
