  1. CNES in Moscow for 20th anniversary of the International Space Station

    Monday 19 November, CNES took part in a conference to mark the 20th anniversary of the International Space Station (ISS). Entitled “Space is an Open Area for International Cooperation and Development”, the conference was held in Moscow by Russian federal space agency Roscosmos.

  3. International space cooperation- CNES at the 35th Space Symposium in Colorado Springs

    CNES is at the 35th Space Symposium, being held from Monday 8 to Thursday 11 April in Colorado Springs, United States. The Space Symposium is a must-attend event for the international space community that has brought together institutional, military, scientific and commercial space leaders from around the world to discuss the latest technology developments and to address and plan for the future of space since the inaugural gathering in 1984. It is, with the International Astronautical Congress (IAC), one of the space sector’s two leading annual international events. More than 11,000 attendees and more than 100 speakers are present at the 2019 edition, where Jean-Yves Le Gall, President of CNES and the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), took part in two sessions.

  4. France-Russia space cooperation CNES at the MAKS 2017 international air show

    Wednesday 19 July, CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall visited the ESA and GIFAS stands at the MAKS international air show in Moscow, where he also met his counterpart Igor Komarov, Head of Roscosmos, the Russian federal space agency. The two agency heads took the opportunity to review joint work undertaken in 2016, a year marked by the 50th anniversary of French-Russian space cooperation, as well as prospects for closer cooperation driven by the new political dynamic between France and Russia.

  10. Space cooperation between France and the USA CNES joins forces with the US and international space community to pay tribute to Charles Elachi

    Charles Elachi, the iconic Director of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) is set to retire on 30 June 2016. To mark the occasion, members of the international space community gathered at JPL in Pasadena, California, to pay a warm tribute to its Director of 14 years as well as to the laboratory that he joined 45 years ago.

    Tuesday 26 April, three top NASA officials were at CNES’s Head Office in Paris, where they gave an interactive presentation on the U.S. space agency’s Journey to Mars programme. The presentation set out the milestones on the path to launching crewed and robotic missions to the Red Planet, which will involve proving the new technologies required and federating the international space community around these goals.

Cette manifestation a pour origine, la volonté d’impliquer davantage les académies et les universités du secteur spatial pour mettre en place des politiques spatiales vouées à répondre aux challenges globaux auxquels fait face notre société, qu’il s’agisse de la protection de l’environnement, du changement climatique ou encore de la gestion des Big Data.

  20. Space cooperation between France, Japan and Africa- CNES attends sixth TICAD (Tokyo International Conference on African Development) in Nairobi

    For its sixth edition, and for the first time since its inception in 1993, TICAD (the Tokyo International Conference on African Development) has been held on the African continent, in Nairobi. CNES, which in 2015 signed a framework agreement with Japan on the use of space assets in order to encourage sustainable development and security, was part of the French delegation led by André Vallini, Secretary of State for Development and French-speaking nations.
