  1. COROT arrives safely in Baikonur

    Carefully stowed inside its container, the COROT satellite arrived safely at the Baikonur Cosmodrome Wednesday 15 November. It made the trip on an Antonov 124 cargo aircraft specially chartered by CNES, with assistance from the satellite integrator Alcatel Alenia Space.

  3. Corot bien arrivé à Baïkonour

    Soigneusement installé dans son conteneur de transport, le satellite Corot est bien arrivé au cosmodrome de Baïkonour mercredi 15 novembre. Il a voyagé à bord d’un Antonov 124 spécialement affrété pour l’occasion par le CNES, avec la participation d’Alcatel Alenia Space, l’intégrateur du satellite.

  4. Gale in an exoplanet's atmosphere

    Using the Hubble Space Telescope (NASA/ESA), the astronomers observed important changes in the upper atmosphere of a remote planet. Just after a strong eruption on its host star was observed in the X-rays range, the planet experienced a violent atmospheric escape. It was the first time such detailed observation of variations in the atmosphere of an extrasolar planet was performed; this result contributed to our knowledge of climatic variations and meteorological alterations in extreme conditions.

    Le satellite Corot vient de franchir une étape importante de la campagne de lancement qui doit durer 5 semaines au total : le remplissage du réservoir de carburant qui lui permettra de se maintenir en orbite pendant les 3 ans que doit durer la mission. Le lancement est toujours prévu le 21 décembre de Baïkonour.
