    Friday 5 May in Montreal, CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall was invited to speak at the McGill Institute of Air & Space Law Conference on Global Space Governance on the theme of the importance of space for societal development. The day before, he met Sylvain Laporte, President of the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), for a status check to review progress on implementing the space cooperation agreement signed by France and Canada in 2014 during President Françoise Hollande’s state visit to Canada.

    Mesurer les radiations à bord de l’ISS grâce à la fibre optique : cette technologie française récente et innovante, embarquée dans le cargo ravitailleur Cygnus NG-16, est arrivée à bord de l’ISS le jeudi 12 août 2021. Le dosimètre de l’expérience Lumina a été activé quelques jours plus tard, mercredi 18 août 2021, par l’astronaute français de l’ESA Thomas Pesquet. Retour sur cette opération suivie en direct par les ingénieurs du CADMOS au CNES à Toulouse.

  5. France-United States space cooperation CNES and NASA sign statement on Mars and oceanography

    Monday 19 June at the 52nd International Paris Air Show at Le Bourget, CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall and NASA Acting Administrator Robert M. Lightfoot Jr. gave new momentum to their cooperation with a joint statement. At their meeting, the two agency heads discussed Mars exploration and oceanography, two domains where CNES has key expertise.

Il avait rencontré la veille, Sylvain Laporte, Président de l’Agence Spatiale Canadienne (ASC), pour faire le point sur la coopération spatiale entre la France et le Canada et la mise en œuvre de l’accord signé en 2014, lors de la visite d’Etat au Canada du Président de la République.

    Thursday 17 November at 21:20 CET, Soyuz completed a flawless launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, sending aloft France’s ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet, Russian mission commander Oleg Novitsky (Roscosmos) and U.S. astronaut Peggy Whitson (NASA). The spacecraft is scheduled to berth with the International Space Station on Saturday 19 November at around 23:00.

    As part of astronaut Thomas Pesquet’s Proxima mission on the International Space Station (ISS) scheduled from November 2016 to May 2017, high-school pupils are at the Toulouse Space Centre on Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9 June to put the finishing touches to their experiments. The youngsters are from five schools selected after a call for projects in March 2015 by the agency’s Youth Education department.
