  1. Space cooperation between France and Gabon- CNES strengthens its cooperation with the Gabonese agency for space studies and observations (AGEOS)

    In the presence of President Ali Bongo Ondimba and at the invitation of Etienne Massard, Chief Executive of AGEOS, CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall attended the inauguration of AGEOS’s new centre of expertise in Nkok, Gabon on Saturday 29 August. The CNES President and his Gabonese counterpart also discussed a possible draft cooperation agreement, setting out the two agencies’ desire to cooperate. The various meetings were attended by Ségolène Royal, the French Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy, who was visiting Gabon as guest of honour at the New York Forum Africa.

    In Gabon’s pavilion at the COP21 climate conference, in the presence of Emmanuel Issoze Ngondet, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign and French-speaking Affairs and Regional Integration, and Flore Mistoul Yame, Minister for the Protection of the Environment and Forest and Maritime Ressources, CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall and Tanguy Gahouma Bekale, Director General of AGEOS, the Gabonese space agency, signed a framework agreement at Le Bourget to step up space cooperation between France and Gabon.
