    Friday 31 January, CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall was in Athens for the France-Greece space industry day organized by CNES, the French Embassy in Greece and the Greek authorities, where he gave the opening address and outlined France’s space programme and its potential for working with Greece through bilateral efforts or within the framework of the European Space Agency (ESA).

    On Thursday 2 August 2018, Jean-Yves Le Gall, President of CNES (the French space agency), and Christodoulos Protopapas, Chairman of the Hellenic Space Agency (HSA), signed an agreement in Athens to establish the terms and conditions for how cooperation activities between the two organizations will be implemented and conducted. The signing was attended by Nikos Pappas, Greek Minister for Digital Policy, Telecommunications and Media and the Secretary General of Telecommunications and Post, Vassilis Maglaras. Actions include the exchange of scientists and other personnel, the joint organization of space events and seminars as well as cooperation on national and international space programmes.

    Friday 23 October in Athens, CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall and Costas Fotakis, the Greek Minister for Research and Innovation, signed an agreement to establish closer ties in space between France and Greece in the presence of President François Hollande, who was making a state visit.
